| Jobar Shelties Beautiful Shetland Sheepdogs Bred With Care, Raised With Love, Shown With Pride |
Jobar Shelties is the culmination of a lifetime of love for
dogs by Barb and Ross Carrier. We live in the beautiful
thumb area of Michigan's lower peninsula. Our dogs are
raised underfoot, and on the bed, on the couch, on the
carpet, and just about anywhere in our home.
We strive to raise healthy Shelties of sound
temperaments and bodies. Our current breeding stock is
concentrated on AOAC (those AKC recognized colors
other than sable) with an emphasis on bi-blue and blue
merle.
We are hobby breeders and breed our dogs in an effort to
maintain and improve our bloodlines in accordance with
the Shetland Sheepdog Standard. We breed litters only
when we have a need for something for our line, so we
have puppies available only occasionally. Please see our

Our dogs are health screened before breeding. Hips,
elbows (OFA) and eyes (CERF), and are VWD clear by
parentage.
NEWS FLASH…Jobar is proud to announce the addition
of Rebecca Bucata to the Jobar Family. Becky and her
late husband, Ralph, came to us looking for a Sheltie in
December, 2003. Becky was really a cat person but
Ralph had had a Sheltie as a youngster and really wanted
another one. Becky didn’t want to go through the “Puppy
Thing”, so they opted for an older dog. I had just the dog
and but really didn’t want to sell him. But when they
came in and sat down Gunny was immediately in Ralph’s
lap as if to say “he is mine Mom”! Sooo he went to live
with them and the rest is history.
Since Ralph passed away, Becky and I have been doing
the show thing as Ross would rather stay home and dog
sit. In the natural progression it is fit that she join my
dream and add hers to it.
